fischertechnik class set Optics for primary school
Demonstrate the principles of optics at primary level for clear, long-term understanding.
In lessons, explore optical phenomena and experiment with light. Explore semi and complete shade, discover lots of exciting things with a magnifying glass, or tell the time using a sundial. These and many other exciting topics can be taught in a fun way using the Optics class set. The construction kit includes six models that are quick to build (and therefore easy to teach) and lots of exciting experiments.
The experiments can be used to explore the three basic properties of light in a way that is fun and makes clear the connection to everyday life. The set is ideal for inclusion in project work:
- determine the direction of light and change it with mirrors
- influence the brightness of the light with shadows
- investigate light and colour with group experiments
- understand how monitors work with magnifying glasses
The class set contains 16 individual component sets and is suitable for 30 students and one teacher, for example. The sets can be used to build 6 models and perform 6 experiments.
Accompanying teaching material:
The fischertechnik class sets include extensive, freely accessible teaching materials. These have been developed in conjunction with teacher training institutions, teachers and educationalists, and are ideal for teaching requirements. In addition to an introduction to the topic, lesson plans with task sheets and educational plan references are available.
The Topic Introduction provides ideal content for lesson preparation and can be integrated into lessons. The topics covered include definitions, history, basic knowledge and much more besides.
The teaching materials include an overview of the learning objectives, the time required for each task, and the respective curriculum references for individual federal states in Germany.
To go with each topic from the curriculum, various tasks are included, each featuring different experiments.
These tasks are subdivided into a construction task, thematic task and experimentation task. This is how you progress from building, to learning technical content, to applying the knowledge you've gained.
