- Detailed product description
This large wooden time set shows clearly how to divide an hour into 5, 15 and 30 minutes.
The clock consists of a dial with hours and minutes and free moving hands. So children can learn to tell the time.
There are also "time fractions" for the time periods 5 minutes, 15 minutes and 30 minutes. The body (face) of the clock can be fitted with these time fractions, enabling clear visualization of individual time periods.
This becomes especially clear when smaller units of time are superimposed on larger "fractions" to show, for example, how many five-minute periods are contained in an hour. How long is a quarter of an hour compared to five minutes? How many 5-minute periods are there in half an hour? The individual time fractions come in different colours: 5 minutes green, 15 minutes orange, 30 minutes blue.
This helps children become really good at telling the time and dealing with time, but they also learn their first fractions in the process.
Ages 3 and above. Teacher handout available to download in various languages (German, English, Italian, French ...).
