Emotion Hourglasses, 4 pieces

These liquid hourglasses make feelings very visible and comprehensible for children. Each of the 4 figures shows a different emotional facial expression: happy, angry, frightened or sad.

The colour as well as the content of the hourglass are precisely matched to the facial expression. For example, the yellow happy hourglass is filled with golden glitter dust swirling around, like an explosion of happiness in the belly. The blue, sad figure, on the other hand, is filled with viscous gel, which illustrates well the dejection and sluggishness associated with sadness. In this way, the children learn that feelings also affect the inner life and the body.

By working with the emotion hourglasses, children pay more attention to their own gestures and facial expressions and those of others. In this way, they learn to assess these and can learn how to deal with emotions together.
