Gift Set "Butterflies", large, 12 pcs.

Experience the amazing development of a caterpillar into a butterfly! Our practical breeding sets include caterpillars bred in Germany plus comprehensive materials (worksheets, breeding net etc.). Breeding butterflies – so simple!

This butterfly breeding set gives you a real insight into the natural world. Breed these beautiful (painted lady) butterflies from tiny caterpillars with your nursery group or school class. You can watch up close the amazing development of our native painted lady from a caterpillar. This is hardly ever possible in nature – it's a really special and eye-opening experience! The breeding process is simple, and children will be enthralled! The set contains everything you need for breeding. Also includes some fabulous accessories!

This butterfly breeding set can be ordered all year round. However, the live caterpillars will only be sent out between March and mid-October. Please note, 2-3 weeks are required for delivery of the caterpillars. Our native caterpillars are shipped from Germany and thus are only in transportation for a short time.

The teaching materials contain lots of valuable ideas for environmentally friendly, climate-aware behaviour and to educate children about sustainable development. These ideas are flagged with the "We are protecting our earth symbol" and can be quickly identified.

How do I order my caterpillars?

You can redeem the enclosed caterpillar voucher at any time.

1. Just use your voucher via our shop at https://code.hagemann.de. Choose when you would like to receive the caterpillars (2-week lead time required).

Note: we ship the caterpillars at the start of the week, otherwise they would be in transportation for an unnecessarily long period over the weekend. Consequently, butterfly deliveries are usually received during the course of the week.

In terms of your planning, please remember: once you have received your caterpillars, it takes about 1-2 weeks for them to pupate. About 1-2 weeks later the butterflies will emerge. At 24°C, the entire development process into a butterfly takes about 3 weeks. If it is cooler, this can take up to 5 weeks.

2. Over the coming weeks, you can watch as the caterpillars transform into painted lady butterflies. You can keep the painted ladies for a while in the net included.

The breeding set contains:

• Voucher for 10 caterpillars (German-bred)
• Sufficient quantity of food
• 2 breeding containers for the caterpillars until they pupate
• 2 breeding butterfly nets (diameter 30 cm, height 30 cm)
