With this set, children will have fun learning the numbers from 1 to 10 and estimating their value. The numbers are made from RE-Wood® and are large enough for pupils to hold easily. The surface material has a pleasant feel and the special shape ensures they can stand securely and are easier to stack.
The numbers are designed so that their size in relation to one another is always the same. The 2 and 3 figures put together are the same size as the 5 figure, and when put together these 3 numbers are the same height as the 10 figure.
The value of each figure also corresponds to its actual size. For example, the 4 figure is 4 cm tall and the 9 figure is 9 cm. A great way to check your own answers when you've stacked up the numbers is to use the handy ruler provided!
The built-in groove along the entire surface of each number makes tracing with fingers or a pen easier to really help students memorise the numbers in the long term. Balls can be placed inside the groove to represent the number value in this way.
Amongst other things the figures are suitable for learning or sorting numbers, or for basic arithmetic. The numbers and their values can be compared with one another and the set offers a clear demonstration of how numbers can be subdivided into their components. Since the numerical value corresponds to the height of each figure, calculations can be measured and checked using the ruler.
Children will enjoy building new number stacks and finding out which other numbers they can use to build stacks.
