TimeTEX Large Fraction Skittles "Montessori Premium"

The Large Fraction Skittles give children their first experience with fractions.

The fraction skittles show simple fractions such as 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4, the coloured insides allow children to assign the fractional parts.

The material lays the foundations for subsequent arithmetic with fractions. Ideally, children learn to recognise the partial quantities by the size of the individual fraction pieces.

The whole skittle is presented to the child as 1/1, then the skittle made of two parts is also presented as 1/1 for comparison. Now you take it apart and say: "That's a half".
Then proceed in the same way with the remaining skittles. Later, the tasks are reversed.

This material can be used with the separately available "Fraction Circles" to visualise the division of fractions.
A separate "Stand for Fraction Skittles" is available, which is not included in the scope of delivery.
