The material for long division seems quite intimidating. However, as with some Montessori materials, the same applies here: As long as there is a solid foundation in addition, multiplication, subtraction and simple exercises, the child is ready for the challenge of mastering the long division.

• always work from left to right, i.e. equation = 9,764 / 4 - start with 9,000
• always work from the thousands back to the ones
• first use prepared equations that do not contain remainders. For this reason, we recommend giving the children the small division board
