- Detailed product description
For children aged 3 to 6, the Montessori language program introduces them to the parts of speech - the first step towards learning grammar. Each language function is represented as a colorful plastic symbol, a concrete representation that can be touched and handled.
They continue to use these symbols in the lower primary class until they are ready to move on to the abstract concepts.
The child is introduced to grammar by learning the function of words. Maria Montessori recognized the need to give the child the opportunity to touch a concrete version of these parts of speech so that they can absorb the meaning of a "verb" or "noun" not only orally, but also with their other senses.
Learning opportunities:
- assign a symbol to a function of a word or a part of speech
- indirectly, the child learns the function of words
- train their attention, attention to detail and concentration
- develop reading and comprehension
The Grammar Symbols help to reinforce the parts of speech through the senses. There are 15 different symbols, each representing a specific type of word. The word symbols are made of sturdy plastic and are stored in a wooden box with dividers.
Wooden box dimensions: approx. 27 x 22.2 x 2.8 cm
Contents:
- 15 pieces of each of the 15 different Grammar Symbols in durable plastic
- box made of solid beech wood with 15 compartments and plywood lid
Under the „Montessori Premium“ brand, we offer high-quality and excellently crafted Montessori materials that are very popular. If these products or parts thereof are made of wood, they are FSC-certified.
