Educational Children's Book "Lou, Lisa & die Schmetterlinge – Eine aufregende Verwandlung", 56 pages

Get to know the world of butterflies with Vanessa, the painted lady butterfly, and Papilio, the swallowtail butterfly!

With the help of this colourful illustrated butterfly book, even very young children can learn exciting facts about butterflies.

The story in the front part of the children's book is the ideal introduction to the topic of butterflies. It gives children from nursery to primary-school age a child-friendly but biologically detailed look at the life of butterflies. The lovingly illustrated drawings in the book motivate the children and help them visualize the different concepts. The story is about two friends Lisa and Lou, who (among other things) meet the painted lady butterfly Vanessa.

Little Lou breeds painted lady butterflies and is eager to show them to his best friend Lisa. Together, they learn all about butterflies through their new painted lady butterfly friend Vanessa: Painted lady mamas glue their turquoise eggs to the top of a thistle leaf. This means they are well protected from rain and predators. The caterpillars develop inside the eggs. When it gets too cramped for them, they hatch. From hatching, to pupation, to the finished butterfly. They explore butterfly habitats, their appearance, and why butterflies and other insects are so important and worth protecting.

Using Vanessa's child-friendly wording, children playfully learn about the life cycle of butterflies, other butterfly species (e.g., the Papilio swallowtail), and their habits.

To reinforce the content of the story, the book includes numerous curriculum-compliant worksheets and assignments in the back for both nursery and primary school children. The children gain many exciting insights into the life of butterflies and insects. Amongst other things, they learn about their physical build, the different developmental stages and their life cycle. Children will also discover that many insects are endangered and can develop ideas about how to protect them.

The book contains lots of valuable ideas for environmentally friendly, climate-aware behaviour and education for sustainable development. These ideas are flagged with the "We are protecting our earth symbol" and can be quickly identified. In addition, a worksheet about saving the environment and protecting the earth's climate provides ideas for a range of small projects on protecting bees, the environment and our climate, which children can carry out themselves. All the suggestions are designed to help children make their own contribution to protecting butterflies and our environment.
