Life Cycle Model "Monarch Butterfly", 4 pcs.

These life cycle models give a precise overview of what the individual developmental stages look like. Unlike the real thing, they can also be handled and observed.

Like the painted lady butterfly, which is a native species here in Europe, the monarch butterfly is a migratory butterfly. The monarch is a long-distance traveller, capable of covering distances up to 3,600 kilometres. It is widespread across the whole of America and over the South Pacific to Australia. The monarch butterfly overwinters in the Sierra Nevada (Mexico) and along the Californian Pacific coast. Monarch butterflies feed on milkweed, which contains toxins that make it inedible for all but a few predators.
