TimeTEX Fabric Box "Montessori Premium"

This box with multicoloured fabrics is an activity that helps children to refine their tactile senses. Through contact with the materials, they learn to refine their sense of touch and to describe the characteristics of the squares.

The fabric box contains 2 sets with 10 different fabrics. Children organise the pieces of fabric by feel to train their sense of touch. This activity is designed for children aged 3 to 4 years.

Learning opportunities:
The immediate goal is for the child:

• to use their sense of touch to match one piece of fabric with another identical piece

Indirectly, the child also:

• develops the ability to discriminate between items based on their sensory skills
• improves their cognitive (problem-solving) skills

Materials such as this box of fabrics can lead to great discussions between children and improves their language and sensory skills.

There is the potential for children's vocabulary to improve as they describe the texture of each piece of fabric during the matching process, although this is not the main aim of the exercise.
