The set gives children the optimum basis for collecting and observing local insects, spiders, worms or snails. Children carefully collect the animals using the handy insect trap and observe them using the magnifying box. This helps them learn more about the different characteristics and habits of these animals. The insects can then be placed in the vivarium and kept for longer observation periods.

The animal profile descriptions in the accompanying learning guide help children identify the animals collected. They learn how to differentiate insects from other animals. The observation sheet can then be copied and filled out by the children for as many animals as they like.
