Raise sunken ships, discover the secret of floating spheres and other adventures
We are constantly breathing air in and out. Air pressure bears down on us. Air is something tangible, material. Most younger pupils are unaware of all this.
That's why many of the properties of air that seem obvious first have to be "put in doubt" so that pupils can recognise them.
The materials provided in the air case facilitate numerous simple student experiments and guarantee the success of experimentation carried out as desk work. Everyday items of technology e.g. air pumps and valves become comprehensible. Furthermore, teachers can hold their own demonstrations with a hot-air balloon and a model rocket. Both experiments are spectacular and a great prompt for discussion.
