Nikitin material: N1 pattern cubes

This educational game is specially designed for teachers to promote basic building experiences and to strengthen spatial orientation, concentration, dexterity and creativity. The Nikitin materials stimulate the imagination by giving pupils room for creative expression.

The set consists of 16 wooden cubes with 6 different coloured surfaces and 2 template booklets. Children combine the cubes according to the templates in the booklets. They start with easy patterns and work their way up to the difficult patterns using 4, 9 or 16 cubes.

Setting out the shapes promotes fine motor skills and concentration but is also a fun way to train children to recognise symmetrical shapes and positional relationships.

In addition to the templates, children can also create their own patterns and give free rein to their creativity. Drawing these afterwards is also lots of fun for children.
