Pupils can use this special paper for one of the oldest photographic printing processes, cyanotype. This allows you to make your own greetings cards, bookmarks or calendar pages. In science lessons, you can use the paper to explain reactions under the influence of light, and in higher-level classes you can even carry out energy analyses following the particle model.
A particularly practical feature of this set is the fixing pane made of Plexiglas. This prevents objects placed on top of the paper from slipping. The pane also has a second advantage, particularly for plant leaves: the weight of the pane presses them down, preventing them from curling up, which allows the edging of the leaves to be captured in more detail.
It is ideal for trying out various materials. Plants and their flowers and leaves are particularly suitable. But you can also make fabulous images using thin slices of citrus fruit and onions. Encourage pupils to experiment with transparent and translucent materials. Using sun cream is also very interesting. There is no limit to the imaginative possibilities when experimenting with this photosensitive paper.
Exposure to light: place your chosen objects on the blue side of the paper and expose it to sunlight. In direct sunlight, this exposure will only take about 2 minutes, in shade 30-45 minutes. The surfaces that have been exposed to the light will now be considerably paler. The photosensitive paper reacts to blue to ultraviolet light, which causes it to change colour. The outline of the object placed on top remains clearly visible.
Fixing the image: immerse the paper for approx. 1 minute in cold tap water. The covered areas will now quickly go pale.
Once dry, the image will not fade on exposure to light and can be used however you want.
Caution! This paper will only work for about 6 months. After this time, it won't change colour anymore.

Product information
The law requires that the toy must conform to an EC standard and labelled with the CE symbol. Our creative articles primarily include craft materials and constituent materials which do not need to be labelled and often do not meet the strict requirements for toys.
For this reason, these products are not all labelled with a warning notice, such as for small parts which can be swallowed or sharp edges. This affects wooden designs for painting or self-adhesive glitter stones, for example.
Scissors are not a toy and although they can be sharp and pointy, they do not require a warning label.
It naturally also makes pedagogical sense that children learn to evaluate risk from their own experiences. However, it is ultimately your responsibility and decision of which items to give children when making crafts.
Our creative materials are primarily intended for children over 3 years of age. However, children under the age of 14 should only craft under adult supervision and standard precautionary measures taken.
