Picture Box "Stories for Verbs"

A verb is at the heart of every sentence. This makes verbs one of the most important parts of speech. However, conjugating and using verbs is not so easy. These picture stories offer a child-friendly and fun way to practise.
These 18 picture stories can be used to help children learn to name activities correctly, conjugate verbs, and use them with different sentence elements.

Each of these 18 stories consists of four cards, each focusing on a specific verb from everyday speech. The verb is linked to a target sentence on the respective card. The target sentences, in turn, are embedded in an everyday scene.

So, on the one hand, the stories can be used to practice 72 verbs from basic vocabulary (such as sit, lie, bake, taste, argue, run, and many others) in a focused way; on the other hand, once the verbs are known, the stories can be related freely.
Through skilful questioning, the child can be supported to find the intended verb (or a corresponding synonym).
During the narration and description, other activities can be identified on each picture card for which the children can find appropriate verbs.
