Observation Set "Ants", 8 pcs.

This observation set offers a great opportunity to closely observe ants at work!
The blue gel included can be used by the ants as a basis for tunnel building and as a source of food. Because it is transparent, it offers a unique view of the complex branching tunnel system created by these busy little animals. With the magnifying glass included in the set, the ants' work can be observed very closely.

The ants are not included in the scope of delivery. You can either collect them together with the children in the garden (approx. 15 - 20 ants) or you can conveniently order an ant colony from us. If you would like to plant the basil seeds included, please plan the delivery of the ants for 2 weeks later to give the plants enough time to grow. The ants do not need the seeds or plants and can be used without them perfectly well.
The animals survive for approx. 6 months in the observation container. They feed on the gel mixed with nutrients and only need fresh air from time to time. To do this, just lift the lid for a few seconds several times a week.

Almost all native garden and field ants can be used. Please ensure that you only collect animals that are not protected and only use ants of the same species together. Very small varieties of ant may be able to escape through the ventilation holes.
