- Detailed product description
Hagemann balloon helicopter
The air streaming out of the balloon is directed via small pipes onto the tips of the rotor blade wings, which it then runs over. This causes the wings to rotate. The rotating wings then create a dynamic impetus, which makes the balloon helicopter fly.
The Hagemann balloon helicopter uses a tip-driven rotor. The rotor blade is driven due to the backward thrust of the wings. This does not impose any counter-torque effect on the balloon. In a helicopter with a single main rotor system, the rotor blade is driven via a motor in the fuselage and the resulting counter-torque is cancelled out by the tail rotor.
