TimeTEX Geometric Cabinet "Montessori Premium"

This material can be used from the age of three and develops the sensory knowledge of plane geometry, which is deepened in the following years. It develops visual and tactile knowledge of geometric figures that can be consciously perceived in the environment. Sensory experimentation with straight lines and curves, together with the grasping exercise, is a good preparation for writing (the shapes resemble the letters of the alphabet and numbers).

The Geometric Cabinet is a comprehensive geometric material. Almost every conceivable shape can be found in the Geometric Cabinet. Children learn to recognize and name a wide variety of shapes quickly and confidently with the Geometric Cabinet. Even complex shapes such as trapezoids, pentagons, etc. are easily taught with this cabinet. The child assigns the respective shape to individual outlines and names them. The child is invited to fetch the counterpart to a particular shape. This teaches the basics of geometry right from kindergarten.

The Geometric Cabinet contains 6 drawers, each with different geometric shapes:

• drawer 1: 6 different triangles
• drawer 2: 6 different rectangles
• drawer 3: 6 circles with diameters from 5 cm to 10 cm
• drawer 4: 6 regular polygons (pentagon to decagon)
• drawer 5: 5 irregular polygons (parallelogram, unequal acute-angled triangle, one right-angled and one isosceles trapezoid, rhombus)
• drawer 6: 4 geometric figures (egg, ellipse, arc triangle and quatrefoil)

A set of cards, a box and a control card can be ordered separately especially for working with the Geometric Cabinet.

The Geometric Cabinet is supplied flat packed and is easy to assemble using the assembly instructions and tools provided.
