TimeTEX Thousand Chain "Montessori Premium"

The Thousand Chain is fascinating number material for every child. It gives children a quick and easy way to imagine quantity concepts in high number ranges or to learn by simple counting.

Children count out 100 tens and realise that 100 x 10 equals a thousand. To illustrate this, the Thousand Chain can also be compared with the separately available Thousand Cube.

The Thousand Chain, along with the separately available "Hundred Chain", can be hung on a specially developed "Frame for the Hundred and Thousand Chain". A special "Mat for the Thousand Chain" is also available separately, allowing the Thousand Chain to be laid lengthways on the floor.

Learning opportunities:

• count large numbers
• learn to estimate
• internalise concepts of quantity
• familiarise with numbers up to 1,000
• add and subtract numbers
