TimeTEX Token Game "Montessori Premium"

The token game helps the shift from tangible material like arithmetic chains or beaded materials to working without aids, abstract calculation. Addition, subtraction, written multiplication and division will all be learnt. Method - didactic information
The number tiles in the token game are designed in the Montessori colours of the card set (green = 1, blue = 10, red = 100, green = 1000), have the number symbols but not quantity dimension. The child takes a four-digit addition from a collection of tasks and places the first number to be added with the small deck of cards. They then add the corresponding number of tokens. They can orientate themselves well using the colours.

The second number to be added is also displayed with the card set and the tokens. The tokens from the second number to be added are moved value by value to the first number to be added so that they now create a sum. This sum is counted out - id necessary, the smaller values can be exchanged for larger ones. The sum is presented with the cards from the larger card set. The tokens are pushed together, counted and written down. It is important to start with the ones every time. A similar procedure is used for multiplication, the number to be multiplied is laid down correspondingly often.

Subtractions can be made in the same way, the tokens are removed from the first set. The minuend is displayed with the large card set, the subtrahend and the difference with the small card set.

For division, the accompanying coloured playing pieces are placed and the tokens are distributed evenly. Start with the highest category.
