Captivating game with sand as a versatile, natural material.
Sand play can take place either outside or in the classroom. Children enjoy the feel of sand as it trickles through their fingers. Individually or together, fingers can dig holes or build sand figures.

The special thing about this sand tray is its glass base. Coloured paper or self-drawn pictures can be placed underneath the glass base. By moving the sand around with fingers or the rake, this will reveal the coloured paper underneath. This produces beautiful patterns and pictures, which the children can wipe away and start again at any time using the sand slider.

Traces in the sand can be produced by more than just fingers and rakes: you can also use patterned rollers, textured balls, spiked balls and our silicone-tipped brushes.
In addition to developing haptic perception, this also promotes fine and gross motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination.

Tip: To prevent the sand from making a mess in the classroom, we recommend placing the sand tray on a large towel. This can then be simply shaken off after use.
